RogueBasin

Excerpt: "Welcome to RogueBasin, the Roguelike information resource that you can edit. What is a Roguelike? A Roguelike is usually described as a free turn-based computer game with a strong focus on intricate gameplay and replayability, and an abstract world representation using ASCII-based display, as opposed to 3D graphics. Of course, as with any genre, there are deviations from the norm."

The Woodnotes Guide to the Mutt Email Client
-
Excerpt: "Writing, reading, and sending email is most satisfying when the tools you use facilitate your work. And Mutt will help you do just that. Mutt is a console mail user agent (MUA). It is not graphical, and makes no use of the mouse. Rather, it runs from the command prompt, so you can use it on consoles where the X Window environment is not running, in virtual terminals, and in remote shell sessions. It has no buttons, sliders, or icons: it's text based. Mutt doesn't do some things you might be used to, but it does several things you never knew were possible and it does them well. It's lean and mean, and once you learn how to make mutt work for you it's hard to use anything else without feeling like the software impedes your efficiency."

How I stopped worrying and started using Markdown like TeX
-
Excerpt: "These days I type most of simple documents (...) in markdown. Markdown provides only the basic structured elements (...) which makes it easy to transform the input into multiple output formats. (...) For most of the last decade, I have almost exclusively used LaTeX/ConTeXt for writing all my documents. After moving to Markdown, I miss three features of TeX: separation of content and presentation; conditional inclusion of content; and including external documents. In this post, I’ll explain how to get these with Markdown."

-
Extract: "This site is a virtual shell and is meant to be a command line joke where you have to use some UNIX commands to get around. Its original main purpose was to have something unique and funny as a front page to the unix toolbox. Is it totally useless? Err yes, but there is snake and invaders and vi :o)."

Utroff est publié
-

Embrace your inner PDP-11
-

DoomRL - Doom, the Roguelike
-
